Explore Harrietville's hidden gems and natural beauty by bike on picturesque paths and gravel roads.

This charming village hugging the valley floor beneath Mt Feathertop is a relaxed cycling haven. Pedal by pristine forest, rivers and lakes on quiet, well-formed fire trails and laneways in the cool shade of the mountains. With two pubs, you're guaranteed a hearty meal, a cold drink and a warm welcome.

PEDAL THE GREAT VALLEY TRAIL 

Explore the 27km family-friendly Great Valley Trail Murray to Mountains extension linking Harrietville with Bright. 

Follow the Ovens River through towering eucalypts in the beautiful valley between Bright and Harrietville. The trail is flat and fully sealed, suitable for road bike and recreational riders of most abilities. 

Be sure to stop in at Mountain Fresh Trout and Salmon Farm to pick up some fresh goodies, and the locals favourite Harrietville Hotel Motel is a great lunch spot complete with a kitted out bike maintenance station.

THE HARRIETVILLE OUT AND BACK 

Take a relaxed gravel ride through charming Harrietville, exploring historic sites and tranquil pathways with plenty of swimming options on the Harrietville Out and Back route .

Wind through Harrietville's bushland past the Big Mill site and Tronoh Dredge Hole along the Ovens River features a mix of crushed gravel paths, laneways and fire trails.

At 11km, this is a great route for intermediate cyclists venturing into gravel riding.

TAKE A LOOK AROUND HARRIETVILLE 

Harrietville and bikes are a perfect match. Get your nature fix off the bike with the grade 4 Bon Accord Spur wilderness walk, the original route taken by walkers, horse riders and pack horses to Mt Hotham. Cool off with a dip at the picturesque Tronoh Dredge Swimming Hole .

If you're feeling lucky, throw in a line at Mountain Fresh Trout and Salmon Farm , or pick up some paté from the farm gate and explore the gardens before soaking in the friendly local atmosphere with a hearty meal at the Harrietville Hotel Motel .
