Starting from the Alpine NP entrance up some of the highest roads in Australia then veering off onto tracks across the Bogong High Plains before reaching the peak and spectacular views of Mount Mackay.
A picnic lunch on the summit and then looping back through the valley to the straying point. Highlights include habitats of the Mountain Pygmy Possum, Snow Gum clusters and herb-rich alpine plains. In Winter this loop is lead with all participants in snowshoes.
