Born to Be Blue celebrates the life and sound of one of jazz's most iconic voices - a trumpeter and singer whose lyrical playing and unmistakable vulnerability left an enduring mark on the music.
From the cool sophistication of his early recordings with Gerry Mulligan to the haunting beauty of his later European years, this concert explores the many shades of Baker's artistry. Led by trumpeter Gianni Marinucci and featuring an outstanding ensemble of acclaimed musicians, this ensemble will bring its own take to the beautiful songs that formed Chet's musical world.
