Return to Landscape is a solo exhibition by emerging North East Victorian artist Aleisha Finn, presented at Beechworth Contemporary Art Space.

Through large-scale oil and charcoal paintings, Finn explores the emotional relationship between figure and landscape using gestural abstraction, layered surfaces and vibrant colour. Following her studies in Art History at the University of Melbourne, she returned to the rural landscape of her childhood near Yackandandah. This homecoming became the catalyst for a new body of work that reflects on place, memory and the natural environment before her upcoming travels to Europe.

Contrasting the urban intensity of her previous Melbourne solo exhibition, After Dark, Return to Landscape embraces the quieter yet deeply resonant experience of regional life. Drawing on memories of childhood, fleeting encounters with nature and the atmosphere of North East Victoria, Finn's paintings present the landscape as a living emotional presence where memory, body and environment become intertwined.

The exhibition invites visitors to experience expressive, immersive paintings that blur the boundaries between abstraction and representation, capturing landscapes that are shifting, dreamlike and deeply felt.
