The rough 4WD road descent is a shortcut on the Delatite River Trail bypassing one of the longer climbs on the track for those bigger bikes that are harder to pedal.
It is steeper and rougher then the Delatite River Trails so for entry level riders, best to stick to the Delatite River Trail.
