Skyline Road, as the name suggests, offers not only great views but a challenging ride.
Starting from the bustling township of Alexandra, the route heads out of town on the Goulburn Valley Highway past rolling fields to charming Thornton. Stop for a coffee at the Thornton General Store before continuing your ride on Back Eildon Road to Eildon for a lakeside lunch at one of the cafes and pubs.
After you're refuelled it's time to kick into gear with the ride's big climb. Pedal over the Lake Eildon dam wall before ascending 350m up Skyline Road to be rewarded by spectacular lake and National Park views. From here it's a freewheeling descent on UT Creek Road back to Alexandra for a celebratory drink.
