450 hectares, 92 runs, 14 lifts – it’s a match made in heaven for skiers and snowboarders.
There are few things more exhilarating than weaving your way down a mountain, poles crunching in the snow and powder jettisoning from your skis as you execute perfect turns. For those who prefer things sideways, strapping into your snowboard bindings for the first run of the season or for your very first time is equally exciting.
Falls Creek’s diverse terrain is ideal for all skill levels. Runs like Wombats Ramble (the longest green run in Australia) and Drovers Dream are perfect for beginners. Intermediates are literally spoilt for choice with the blue runs of Sun Valley and Ruined Castle providing an excellent range of gradually harder runs to test themselves out on – we call it “progression-perfect” terrain. For the serious slider, almost a quarter of the skiable area at Falls Creek is advanced terrain. This means steep and fast black runs with plenty of trees and powder stashes.
