Where to snowplay
Hotham's designated snow play and toboggan area is situated at the beautiful and sheltered location of Possum Flat, adjacent to Wire Plain. A moderate toboggan slope overlooking Possum Flat is suited to kids of all ages.
While you're there, be sure to visit the Snow Stuff Park - where you can hire a range of exciting and fun snow play products.
Falls Creek features a tobogganing slope at Windy Corner with day car parking and a cafe located nearby - perfect for families! The slopes are free to access, all you need is an approved toboggan and a booking.
Build a snowman, make a snow angel or have a friendly snowball fight! Mt Buller boasts two snowplay parks - one located in the day car park next to Celia's Kiosk and the other next to Alpine Central in the Village.
Mt Baw Baw is a family delight, with three snow play areas featuring tobogganing, husky dog sled tours, snowshoeing and snowmobile rides - sure to tire out the little tackers!
Head to Mt Stirling for some simple snow play activities and give the kids that memorable first snow experience - build a snowman or have a snow ball fight, go snowshoeing or get on a toboggan and soak up stunning Mt Stirling.
The magical village of Dinner Plain offers tobogganing, snowshoeing, snow play, sled dog tours and more. For beginners, the Snow Park with its gentle downhill slope and Poma lift sits at the edge of the village, and is an ideal place to learn to ski or snowboard.
Ride the "magic carpet" and save your legs for more snowplay at Lake Mountain. The Village Toboggan Run, which is guaranteed to be covered in snow throughout the season, is complimented by the new magic carpet which will take you straight back to the top with no effort.
Lake Mountain also offers plenty of opportunity for snowshoeing, snowman-making and the odd snowball fight!
Mt Buffalo offers two designated toboggan areas: Dingo Dell is best for young families with a gentle slope and ample space for kids to make snow men, snow angels and more. Cresta Valley offers more diverse tobogganing with a wide range of terrain and scenery.
The opportunity for snow play is also expanded with a large plateau open, ripe for exploration!
