Written when the composer was just 22, Schubert's Trout quintet remains one of the most joyous, life-affirming works in the chamber music repertoire. Featuring the unusual combination of piano, violin, viola, cello and double bass, Schubert's music invites us to enjoy endless harmonic and melodic inventiveness.
Pianist and composer Stefan Cassomenos will present a short pre-concert talk commencing at 7pm, 30mins prior to the start of the performance. This talk is included in the price of admission, and - aside from purchasing a ticket - no registration is necessary.
This project is supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria.
