December 23rd to January 2nd at Dinner Plain
Dinner Plain Alpine Village transforms this Christmas and New Year’s holiday in a 10 day celebration of the High Country – the Dinner Plain Festival Of Light.
Experience the historic snowgums and distinctive architecture of Dinner Plain in a way you’ve never seen before. When the sun goes down, Dinner Plain transforms into an interactive lighting extravaganza with spectacular lighting effects and structures amongst the trees and huts.
Victor Holder – Voice Of The Earth
Public artist Victor Holder brings his mesmerising light projection “Voice of the Earth” to Dinner Plain. Between 9 and 10:30pm each and every night of the Festival of Light, see Victor’s incredible display telling the story of ancient traditional cultures as a relationship with the environment.
Each evening the village will be lit by a sea of lights and effects in a constantly changing visual feast. Visit Dinner Plain’s famed pubs and restaurants then after dark, head for the expansive snowgum area between the village entrance, DP Hut and Crisp’s Hut for the show every evening.
This is an event unlike anything seen in the North East and it all kicks off from December 23, running through to January 2.
Entry is 100% free, you don’t want to miss this incredible new event!
