It took the winemaking families of the King Valley five years to answer a question you’ll have answered in just one day: how do you grow the very best Sangiovese?
Join the winemakers of the King Valley on a fully facilitated tour to discover the science behind growing this beloved Italian variety.
You’ll be collected from your accommodation, travelling in luxury with King Valley Winery Tours, and delivered to one of the participating vineyards to gather learnings drawn from the vines themselves.
Then, you’ll head to Chrismont where winemaker Warren Croft will show you the lab where The Sangiovese Project wine was made. When you’re full of knowledge, it’s time to fill up with a hearty Italian lunch in the magnificent Chrismont cellar door.
Your final stop is Pizzini Wines with second generation winemaker and project lead, Joel Pizzini. In the private kiln tasting room you’ll explore the five Pizzini Sangiovese, each hailing from different areas of the vineyard for you to truly see the impact of site on wine.
